In Memoriam
We lost a beloved fisherman on the lake this year. While Franklin did not live at Duck Harbor, he had many friends here and loved being by Duck Harbor to hunt and fish.
Frank was born to Franklin and Lillian Piercy on October 25, 1960, in Honesdale, PA. He graduated from Honesdale High School in 1979, had a long career in construction, and took great pleasure in the outdoors.
You could find him fishing, camping, or simply enjoying life with his dog, Shiloh.
Frank and Shiloh spent weekends and winter days at the Ten Mile Hollow Sportsman Club, where he was a member for most of his life. He loved taking trips up north with friends and family.
While many would have never guessed, Frank was an inspired baker, making cakes for every family occasion, often joking about selling his cheesecakes after he retired.
On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, Franklin John Piercy passed away unexpectedly at 63 when he fell through the ice while ice fishing.
Frank is survived by his mother Lillian, brother Jerry, brother-in-law Ken, niece Valerie, her husband Alex, nephew Kenny and his wife Alisha, as well as many cousins, relatives and dear friends.
Frank will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated son, loyal brother, favorite uncle and one-of-a kind friend.
